What I’m going to tell you is life changing.
Okay, maybe not life changing…but amazing all the same.
This is a family recipe. An old one. That I don’t ever remember being fed as a kid.
What’s up with that?
Don’t you fret my pet, I will share it with you now. So that you can make it. And feed it to your children.
And if you don’t have children, you can feed it to yourself. I won’t judge.
First things first, peel, core and slice the apples into large chunks.
Here’s the crazy, life changing part.
Mix the apples with….
MINI MARSHMALLOWS! and pour into a buttered baking dish.
In a medium bowl, blend the remaining ingredients.
Spread over the apples…and marshmallows! {Don’t look away, don’t raise an eye brow, just embrace this oddity.}
Bake in the oven. Wait impatiently.
Let it cool for a few minutes, but absolutely serve it warm.
Normally I’d put a scoop of ice cream on top of traditional apple crisps, but this one doesn’t need it. The marshmallows added plenty of sweet, without overpowering the perfect apple flavors. Oh, and the topping, it was just the crumble on the crisp.
That was my really corny way of saying it was the icing on the cake. I’ll stop talking now.
…marshmallows in your apple crisp, life changing.
I can’t wait to hear from you if {when} you agree.
XO
