I’m an indecisive person. It’s bad.
Making a small, no-big-deal choice can take forever. If it’s life-changing? See you next week.
April, though. Seriously? Sunny in the 70s at the start of the month. Snow all day today.
Get your act together. Make a decision…it’s making it really hard to get dressed in the morning. Let’s just stick with warmer weather. Let me just bring my sandals out of hibernation.
Please.
Until that day comes…let’s talk about this summery cocktail.
After a Red Sox game last summer, I met up with a few friends next to the ballpark, had a bite to eat and started talking to the bartender {because that is absolutely what I do}. Asked for a fun drink.
This is what I got.
I’ve been obsessed ever since. And while I’m not a big drinker, when I do, I want it to be delicious. And refreshing.
To start, have you ever heard of this grapefruit vodka? The citrus flavor is fantastic. It makes this drink.
…and how about that vein protruding from my arm? Gross.
And that’s pretty much the main ingredient. Most places will serve it at a 1:1 ratio with the soda water, but I don’t like drinks that strong, so I changed it up a bit.
Regardless, mix the grapefruit vodka with soda water {or lime flavored soda water. or Fresca!}
Add ice.
Take a lime wedge, squeeze around the rim of the glass and add to the drink.
{And what is that black thing on the lime?!?! Gross. Again. Sorry.}
Serve immediately.
You can add grapefruit to it too if you want…big chunks, that’ll absorb the drink and be a delicious treat at the bottom of the glass.
…and while I’m horrible at making decisions, this one is a no-brainer.
Cheers to warmer weather.
ASAP
XO

Great minds think alike! :)
Grapefruit and lime make a great combination! Bonus that the grapefruit is in vodka form!
Hahaha yes!
I love this post! I now live in McAllen, TX. near the gulf of Mexico where it’s summer year-round, and citrus of all kinds is amazing. I’m not sure I love that, as I loved the high desert and snow of New Mexico! However, I do love citrus based cocktails that are not sweet, and this looks like a winner. Here’s to hoping your winter is over soon!
Let’s keep our fingers crossed!!
I’m such a cold weather wimp. so I can relate!! Cocktails are good anytime of year though! Grapefruit vodka sounds so refreshing!
So very refreshing! :)
I don’t drink but this looks delicious! Do you have a non-alcoholic version?
You could try substituting grapefruit juice for the alcohol!
