As I’m sitting here. 10 minutes before heading out the door, it hit me. I haven’t “rambled” in a while. And by ramble, I mean some quick kitchen talk. Kitchen advice. Anything I can throw out there that could maybe help you, a beginner in the kitchen, successfully prepare a dish. Or build confidence. Or learn to love to cook.
Because I’ve been there.
Oooooh, I’ve been there. Burnt toast was a breakfast staple, until I began putting in a bit of effort, until I began loving my time in the kitchen. Until I became good at it.
So, tonight’s random and quick ramble? Read the recipe. Yes, read it. In it’s entirety. Before you do anything. Check to make sure you like every ingredient. Check to make sure you have the necessary tools. Time and plan everything out. Organize. Read each step carefully. Because there’s one saying for meal prep that also goes for general recipe following: “Fail to plan, plan to fail.” Read, plan, enjoy.
And to practice…here’s a throwback to one of my favorite recipes from last autumn.
